Mary is actively involved in the dance community. She has been an instructor/choreographer for the past 16 years. Having been trained herself in tap, jazz, lyrical, ballet, pom, and cheerleading, she loves passing on this art to her students.
Currently Mary teaches seven competitive dance teams ranging in ages from four to eighteen. Her dancers take home countless awards and placements regionally and nationally at competitions such as Masquerade Dance, Hall of Fame, and StarQuest. Mary was recently honored as the National Dance Educator of the Year.
In addition to her competitive teams, Mary teaches recreational classes for ages two through adults. She loves guiding her tiny tots through their first dance steps, teaching the studio moms, and everything in between! She teaches private lessons, cheerleading camps, and volunteers her talents to teach dances at fundraisers. Mary also serves as the Recreational Program Director for Woodbury Dance Center.
As a respected and in-demand instructor, Mary has furthered her dance education at the DanceLife Teacher Conference put on by the renowned Rhee Gold. Mary believes that every class she teaches is an opportunity to positively impact someone's life. Her philosophy is that everyone has incredible potential- they just need someone to believe in them. She takes her role as a mentor and role-model seriously. Dance teaches far more than movement- it inspires creativity, creates discipline, allows for life-changing opportunities, and teaches self-control, goal-setting, work ethic, cooperation, and more. Mary strives to instill self-esteem and confidence in all those that she works with.
